Capsule Geology

The Lake vein area is underlain by volcanics of unknown affinity and siltstones and sandstones of the Middle Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous Bowser Lake Group. These are intruded by granodiorite dikes, sills and plugs of the Late Cretaceous Bulkley Plutonic Suite.

In 2011, Cavan Ventures collected 3 chip samples on the Lake vein. Sample 938916 was taken over a 1 metre width of banded quartz vein that contained limonite, chalcopyrite, chalcocite and a trace of galena. The sample assayed 1.54 grams per tonne gold, 462 grams per tonne silver, 1.41 per cent copper, 0.02 per cent lead and 0.01 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 32679). The vein was hosted in basalt.

In 2011, a detailed soil grid consisting of two 200-hundred-meter lines, spaced 25 metres apart, were placed over the area of the Lake Vein. The purpose of this survey was to determine the below ground extent of the newly discovered 5-metre long quartz sulphide vein. The lines were centered on the vein area and run along the inferred 50 degree strike of the vein in order to determine the extent of the structure. B-horizon soil samples were taken on 10 metre centres. The results show above background gold for 8 sample locations with results ranging from 6.1 to 14.0 parts per billion gold (Assessment Report 32679). Copper, lead, zinc and arsenic results were also significant.

WORK HISTORY

Sampling was first done on the Lake vein by Cavan Ventures in 2010 and 2011.

See Kisgegas (093M 126) for related details of work done on the KM property, including the Lake Vein area.
